// Life is not always easy. To get some extra positivity in life does not mean that you need to see absolutely everything in a positive way. Sometimes you need to take a fight to solve a problem. You have to be able to say no when needed and to stand up for yourself. However, positivity CAN help you in many situations!
1. Realize that you actually have a choice
In some situations it might not be easy, maybe even impossible You can, nevertheless, always choose how to react. Choosing to see things positively doesn't necessarily mean that your life is flawless (because who has the perfect life anyway?), but it might help you to get through a tough situation. Sometimes you need a bit of a push and a good mood to help you out. It's all about turning something negative into something a bit more positive, because you are worth just that. Sometimes you need a change and that small push might be just what you need to make it happen. Surrounding yourself with negative people takes way too much energy from you!
2. Find something that makes you feel good
Maybe a hobby? Find something that makes you happy or makes you feel good and try to focus on that thing. Do more of that! If you don't find anything straight away - keep looking! Stop for a minute and think about what you're doing, could this be your thing? Just continue to try new things.
3. Spread some happiness
Don't you have this friend or co-worker that just spreads joy and happiness around all the time? Someone who just makes everyone smile without really doing anything? Try to be this person for someone. It might be a huge step to change at once, but try making someone's day a bit better by giving them an honest compliment or just be a little bit positive. Even if you're just acting this way today towards one single person, I'm sure that he/she will get a better day!
Even though I'm a very positive and forgiving person by nature I also understand that some situations are unforgivable. These tips are only for you to use in the way you feel possible. In Sweden we say that you're carrying a lot of stones, some baggage from before which is gnawing at you, and by forgiving you can let some of these stones go, making you feel lighter and more free. First of all, let go of things that happened before. It takes a lot of unnecessary energy from you to keep it inside. If it's not possible to forgive this certain thing or person, try to let go of it to make a fresh start.
5. Try to see the good in everyone
I think all relationships can benefit from this one. Stressful situations can bring out the worst in people, but you can always try to see beyond that or see through it. Don't assume things about others, don't judge and don't compare. Try to let go of all the drama for a minute. If someone makes you feel bad, remember their good parts. Please do let them know what you think, but remember your friends amazing qualities too, you can surely solve the situation without a fight.
